This listing is for Strong Men Armed : The United States Marines Against Japan (Hardcover, Second Printing, 1962) from Robert Leckie.  This book is signed by Robert Leckie with an inscription.  This also includes an envelope postmarked to the owner mentioned in the inscription from Robert Leckie (See 7th Photo).  I do not know what this envelope originally contained.  The previous owner appears to have kept the contents.

This book is used.  For condition information, please see below.


Condition Details

Dust jacket has protective plastic cover. Jacket has some tears and chipping (See 13th/14th Photos for examples), some tape attached to those tears, sun fading to the spine, creases (See 15th Photo for example), and age yellowing to white areas.  Likely also has other wear not as easy to spot through the plastic.  Plastic cover has scratches/scuffs and soiling.


Boards have sun fading to top and bottom edges (See 16th Photo for example), bumping (See 17th Photo for example), edge wear, some text wear (See 18th Photo for example), and some surface cloth wear.


Outside of text-block has wear and dust staining (See 19th Photo for example).


Binding is on the loose side, but remains secure with all pages intact (See 20th Photo).


Front end-paper has some surface tearing (See 21st Photo).


Pages and end-papers have definite age yellowing (See 22nd Photo w/ white paper for example). Has an old book odor that might include some tobacco odor--please be aware if allergic.


A handful of pages have stains in the blank margins (See 23rd Photo for example). A number of pages have small, innocuous spots.  


Pages have a large vertical dip/bend throughout (could not get to photograph).  Corners of most pages have small creases.  A handful of pages have more obvious creasing (See Last Photo for example).


All text is clear and readable with no writing (with the obvious exception of the inscription), highlighting, or other obstruction or alteration of any kind.  


Included envelope has creases and age yellowing.
