Vintage framed print of “Brinton’s Mill” by Andrew Wyeth, one of America’s most celebrated painters, after his original 1958 drybrush painting of the historic Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania gristmill. The back bears the original Turner Mfg. Co. “Turner Wall Accessory” label — Turner was a major American producer of decorative wall art in the 1950s and 1960s and distributed reproductions of well-known American artworks through retail channels during that era.
The image is rendered in Wyeth’s characteristic spare, wintry tonality — the mill structure in stark contrast against a pale ground, with the rough texture and bare branches that define his Pennsylvania landscapes. Framed in a warm wood frame with gold liner and grey fabric mat, approximately 21.5” wide x 17.5” tall. Condition shows some age consistent with a 60+ year old piece.
This is the Turner mass-market reproduction rather than the more limited 1962 Art in America lithograph edition — priced accordingly. A nice vintage piece for Wyeth admirers or fans of mid-century American wall decor.
