Much nice detail remains on this 250-year-old coin of King George III.
The design leads me to believe this coin is a non-regal issue struck at the "unofficial" mints in Birmingham, England. Often for export to the American colonies. However, please review the images and make your own determination. The size and weight are relatively good (in comparison to the regal issues) for this well-made coin.
This cool old Georgian coin would have circulated in Great Britain and the American colonies in the mid- to late 1700s.
Sized about 28mm and 8.5g.
