In the World Cup Final against New Zealand, Smith made 56 not out, as
Australia lifted their fifth World Cup in front of almost 100,000 at the
MCG. In
the 2019 Ashes, he almost single-handedly repelled England, to claw a
drawn series and Australia to retain the Ashes on English soil. That
year also saw Smith achieve the record for the fastest in the history to
Test cricket to 7,000 runs (126 innings).
At time of writing, Smith has surpassed 10,000 Test runs - to add to 5,800 ODI runs, 2 Cricket World Cups, & a World Test Championship!
