You are buying an old M-61 Traje de Lanzamiento Camuflado, or as it used to be called "uniforme de salto", a trousers in brown dominant amoeba camouflage. Also referenced as boscoso (woodland in English), pyrenees, or spring-time amoeba pattern. Used exclusively by Brigada Paracaidista, or commonly known as BRIPAC, since the mid-1960s to the early 1980's. Specifically, it began to be used from the year 1961. This uniform was also seen being worn by other special operations and paratrooper units but on very rare occasions. Legionnaires or green berets when they did the parachutist jump course.

The garment consists of a heavy paratrooper style smock made from a heavy, windproof canvas style fabric. These are uniforms from a bygone era, with so many features and a high complexity, something that was surely time-consuming to manufacture and won't likely find today in the era of disposable synthetic uniforms and automated manufacturing.

The trousers are packed with pockets and features: on the front the most striking are the two vertically zippered waist pockets. In addition to the two waist pockets, it has two open openings to access the pants underneath. And below them - two cargo thigh pockets with metal snap closures that have drawstrings to adjust the pockets to the leg. It has two pockets on the back closed by a plastic button. On the calves we find snap metal buttons to adjust to size. In the fly there are flaps as was common to find in the pants of that time.

The pants are in acceptable condition. I noticed two tears in the fabric and a mend in the crotch (see pics). The ankles have been altered; they've added elastic inside to cinch the hems around the ankle. I have not observed any other damage or mods. The colors are still strong and solid. All zippers, by Areitio brand, working properly. All buttons present and original. The manufacturer's stamp is not present (they didn't always include the stamp). The manufacturing contracts were awarded to two manufacturers, Fábrica Española de Confecciones S.L. or Maristany Fabril Textil S.A. The size is equivalent to a European M. The dimensions are as follows:

• waist - approx. 46 cm (18.11" in.)
• inseam - approx. 74 cm (29.13" in.)
• leg opening - approx. 10-20 cm (3.93" to 7.87" in.)
• outseam - approx. 106 cm (41.73" in.)
• weight - 1040 gr (2.2 lb.)
