PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Swagelok MS-TCW-308 is the genuine OEM replacement cutting wheel for the Swagelok MS-TC-308 tube cutter, sold individually. This hardened steel wheel maintains the precision cutting performance required for clean, square, burr-minimized cuts on stainless steel, carbon steel, soft copper, and aluminum tubing from 3/16 to 1 inch (6 to 25 mm) OD. Using a sharp wheel is the best way to minimize burring and prevent tube end expansion or work hardening on hard alloys such as 316 stainless steel.
WHEN TO REPLACE THE CUTTING WHEEL
Replace the MS-TCW-308 cutting wheel when:
- Cutting becomes difficult or requires excessive force
- The end of the tubing begins to expand during cutting
- Cut tube ends show excessive burring or are no longer square
Using a dull wheel will expand and work harden the tube end, which can compromise fitting sealing capability and system cleanliness.
HOW TO REPLACE THE WHEEL
1. Open the cutter slide at least halfway by turning the handle counter-clockwise.
2. Remove the pin holding the wheel in place.
3. Remove the old wheel and install the new one.
4. Replace the retaining pin.
Note: Occasionally lubricate the cutter's working threads.
