All side skirts from Duraflex are designed as aftermarket accessories. Due to the nature of fiberglass and the manufacturing processes involved, these side skirts are not “direct bolt-on” parts. They may require additional preparation, such as sanding, shaving, filling gaps, or other custom bodywork. Installation may also involve modifications to vehicle components to ensure a proper fit.
Side skirts that extend onto the rear quarter panel or front fender may require more extensive work, including custom fitting. In some cases, these side skirts may need to be secured with screws or other fasteners, which are not included and must be sourced separately for secure installation. Proper alignment is crucial to achieve a seamless fit and ensure long-term durability, especially in high-stress areas.
For the best results, Duraflex side skirts are often best paired with front and rear bumpers of the same style, as most aftermarket styles sit lower to the ground than OEM components. Mixing aftermarket side skirts with OEM bumpers can create a noticeable height difference that disrupts the vehicle’s visual flow.
While side skirts can enhance both the aerodynamics and aesthetics of your vehicle, Duraflex strongly recommends professional installation by a custom shop experienced in handling fiberglass components to ensure proper fit and safety.
Safety and Legal Use
Duraflex side skirts are designed strictly for off-road and show applications. Due to stringent Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, many of these products are not street legal. Duraflex does not endorse or recommend using side skirts on public roads or highways.
