Provenance / History

Jamieson & Carry is one of Scotland’s most historic and respected jewellery firms, with origins dating back to 1733 in Aberdeen.

The business grew significantly in the 19th century under the Jamieson family and, in 1848, was appointed Jeweller and Silversmith to Queen Victoria, reflecting its high level of craftsmanship and reputation. Following its acquisition by William Whyte Carry in the early 20th century, the firm evolved into Jamieson & Carry, a name still associated with quality today.

During the early to mid-20th century, when this box was produced, the company was an established luxury retailer and became a Rolex authorised retailer in 1928, further demonstrating its prestige.

This ring box represents a small but tangible piece of that long-standing British and Scottish jewellery heritage.
