Item Description

KRAMER DMZ4000 (no260608)

The DMZ4000 is a vintage bass representing Kramer's golden age, manufactured from the late 1970s to the early 1980s.Its most distinctive feature is the aluminum neck structure, synonymous with Kramer. The unique design, combining an aluminum neck with a wooden insert, achieves superior rigidity and stability. The fast attack, overwhelming sustain, and clearly defined bass tones are the unique charms of an aluminum neck. The body is made of maple. Combined with the aluminum neck, it produces a responsive attack and clear sound. It's recommended for rock, new wave, punk, and also for players seeking a bass sound with presence. The pickups are DiMarzio humbucking pickups. Combining powerful output and excellent projection, this vintage model has a sound that is still perfectly usable in today's music scene. While there are signs of use such as dents and scratches commensurate with its age, it maintains good condition for a vintage bass. The frets have approximately 60% remaining. There are no major issues with playability.
Also, the tuning peg on the 2nd string side has a defect; the threads of the bushing that secures it from the front of the peg are worn, making it impossible to tighten it completely. However, this does not currently affect tuning or playing, and it is usable under normal circumstances.
The string height is currently about 3.5mm at the 12th fret of the 4th string, which is slightly high, but the saddle is already low and cannot be lowered any further.
If you wish to lower it further, you will need to adjust it by inserting a shim into the neck pocket.
In recent years, the number of Kramer guitars from the aluminum neck era has decreased, and good condition examples are becoming increasingly rare each year.
This is a guitar that allows you to fully experience the unique look and sound that is characteristic of Kramer.
