OVERVIEW

The Cosmo RC-17 is a touring all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. Cosmo offers a 45,000 mile treadwear warranty with this tire model.

Cosmo also offers a road hazard warranty with this tire. Road hazard damage is harm caused to the tire during its performance. It can occur in the form of punctures, bruises, or impact breaks when the tire is driven in normal driving conditions on a federal, state, and/or locally maintained road. Cosmo's road hazard covers the first 25% of the tire's tread life or 1 year from the date of purchase (whichever comes first). The road hazard warranty covers passenger vehicle and SUV sizes and it does not include sizes of the 40 series and below and 21-inch diameters and above. In order to qualify for the road hazard, the tires must be registered with Cosmo within 45 days after the purchase.

The tire promotes exceptional all weather traction and excellent road gripping ability. The special tread pattern firmly grips the road in dry, wet and winter weather. The wide circumferential grooves actively channel water away from the tire footprint, effectively preventing hydroplaning in dangerous situations in the process. The enhanced hydroplaning resistance and all weather traction ensure a safer year round driving experience.

The model offers a comfortable and quiet drive. The constantly maintained road contact reduces the road vibrations felt in the vehicle's cabin. The tire's road contact absorbs the shock of driving by closely following the road surface. The tread pattern decreases the road noise heard while the tires are in motion. The airwaves are channeled through the tire footprint without coming into contact with the tread elements. In this manner the driving experience becomes more enjoyable and the road vibrations and noise do not disturb the comfort of the passengers.

The tire compound and the tread design lower the tire's rolling resistance. The rolling resistance is the pressure affecting the tire during the drive that determines how much energy the vehicle needs to maintain the tires in motion. The reduced rolling resistance, due to the lower tire weight, decreases the vehicle's fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The result is a fuel efficient and environmentally friendly drive.

The tread design and the enhanced road contact extend the tread life and the tire usability. This evenly distributes the driving pressure along the tread surface. The equal distribution of the forces of the acceleration, cornering and braking prevents irregular tread wear patterns from forming across the tread area. The longer lasting, even tread wear elongates the tire's usability and tread life.

The RC-17's steering responsiveness and driving stability are also increased with the maintained road contact. The better road contact stabilizes the tire against the driving pressure affecting the tire. It also improves the steering responsiveness and accuracy, allowing the driver to confidently control the tire, even during high speed performance.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
