In line with Ebay's Card Condition policy, I will outline my own for clarification.

I judge condition based on a combination of factors: blemishes, surface dirt, scratches, silvering, whitening, delamination, creases, damage such as edge-wear and impressions. If a card shows a significant degree in one factor or a lesser degree in too many of these factors, it is generally considered Moderately Played.

Mint: the card is practically flawless.

Near Mint: the card has no obvious signs of play, no surface dirt, creases nor damage of any kind, but may have minor blemishes or very light scratches that can be seen when held up to the light. On holographic cards, there may be the odd spot of foil shining through or some silvering along the edge.

Lightly Played: the card has minor signs of play, which may include light damage such as edge-wear and/or shallow impressions, but will have no creases at all. Surface scratches and/or dirt may be present to some lesser degree, and there may also be some whitening taken place. On holographic cards, there may be very slight delamination in effect. Overall, the card is still very presentable.

Moderately Played: the card has obvious signs of play, there may be deep scratches, minor creases, noticeable damage and/or surface dirt to a significant degree. On holographic cards, there may be some delamination in effect. Overall, the card is adequately presentable.

Heavily Played: the card is in poor condition, it has noticeable damage, scuffs, creases and/or surface dirt.

Inking Error: if a card has an inking error, it will usually fetch a higher price owing to its rarity. An inking error is not a flaw in its condition but a flaw in the printing process.

If I have listed a card as a combination of two categories, this essentially means that it falls somewhere in between; not quite good enough to sit comfortably in the higher tier but also not poor enough to fall directly into the lower tier.

I have a high standard for my cards and, therefore, the chances are my conditions are conservative compared to others on Ebay.
