An attractive pressed copper relief plaque depicting the ancient Greek philosopher Socrates, after a design by the renowned Austrian sculptor and medallist Leonhard Posch (1750–1831).

The plaque features a finely modelled profile portrait of Socrates seated with a scroll or manuscript, executed in high-relief copper with excellent depth and texture.
