Dated October 1939, this photo captures British Expeditionary Force (BEF) soldiers painting a pirate-themed mock message and caricature of a fleeing Adolf Hitler on a military transport canvas.
Includes the detached original typed press slug outlining the movement of British troops to the French front line.
