Scarce Art Deco Julep Soda Bottle Tarboro NC Embossed Bottle

Description:

Offered here is a scarce Art Deco style “Julep” soda bottle from Tarboro, North Carolina. These embossed Julep bottles are becoming increasingly difficult to locate, especially in solid display condition, and are highly sought after by collectors of North Carolina soda bottles and regional soft drink memorabilia.

This example features beautiful vertical Art Deco ribbing throughout the body along with bold embossed “JULEP” lettering displayed on both sides of the bottle. The bottle has a fantastic early soda bottle shape and strong visual appeal with classic period styling.

Most examples of these bottles encountered today tend to have significant damage, commonly cracks or heavy lip damage, likely due to the thinner style glass used during production. Thankfully, this example still presents very well and retains excellent shelf appeal.

A fantastic addition for collectors of Tarboro bottles, North Carolina advertising, or Art Deco soda memorabilia.

History:

Regional soda bottles from smaller North Carolina towns such as Tarboro have become increasingly collectible over the years due to lower production numbers and much lower survival rates compared to major national brands.

The heavily ribbed Art Deco styling seen on this Julep bottle reflects the popular bottle design trends of the late 1920s through the 1940s, when soda manufacturers focused heavily on eye-catching embossed glass and streamlined presentation.

Julep-branded bottles from Tarboro, North Carolina are considered scarcer regional soda bottles today, particularly examples retaining strong embossing and decent display quality. Many surviving examples are damaged, making cleaner displayable examples increasingly difficult to locate.

Collectors of North Carolina bottles, regional soft drink advertising, and Art Deco glassware continue to seek these embossed Julep bottles due to their strong shelf presence and local bottling history.

Seller’s Note:

A very attractive and increasingly hard-to-find Tarboro, North Carolina soda bottle with outstanding Art Deco styling. Despite the small lip bruise, the bottle still displays exceptionally well due to the dual-sided embossing. A fantastic shelf example for the advanced North Carolina bottle collector. Item sold as-is.
