10¢ Nov 1st, 1862
The Saratoga County Bank operated in Waterford, New York, from 1830 to 1885. It was located at the intersection of Broad Street (U.S. 4) and 2nd Street in Waterford. The bank played a significant role in the local economy, but it became infamous for a robbery in 1872, when thieves forced the cashier to open the safe and escaped with half a million dollars in cash, securities, and jewelry.
