UNIT DETAILS: This unit was refurbished using an LCD assembly that was pulled from a liquid-damaged unit. The LCD itself shows moderate staining primarily in the bottom half of the screen. There are some minor 'specks' in other spots--see all photos. The stains are most-visible on a light or white background, and basically disappear on any other background. We have provided photos of multiple wallpapers so you can gauge the severity of the stains on various background colors. The rest of the unit unit did NOT experience the liquid spill that stained the LCD, and none of the components (top-case/keyboard, logic board, battery, trackpad, etc) sustained any liquid-exposure, so no need to be concerned-about potential "worsening" of any issues or anything. We simply utilized this specific stained LCD to repair this unit (it had a cracked LCD previously).
Additionally, a bit more information on LCD staining on these units: Anytime liquid (in this case, water) intrudes into the LCDs, they 'displace' a specific powder that coats one of the backlight diffuser sheets/panels. The LCDs on these are actually fully-sealed units, and sit "in-front" of 5-6 light-diffusing sheets that do things like boost brightness/contrast, improve viewing angles, etc. When water hits the powder-coated (literally--a fine white powder that will even come-off on your finger if you touch it, etc) sheet, it "displaces" that powder and causes a bright spot on the LCD where that powder-coat is now "missing". Sometimes it looks a bit cloudy, other times it's a clear/hard-edged spot. But it's important to explain: there is no water actively trapped inside the LCD and the staining will not worsen or change over-time--it will simply be a bit of an eye-sore. It will remain unchanged from its current state, and we will warranty the unit for 1 full year. :)
