This Billiard holds the Made in England in a circle hallmark - The stem has a fill where the three circle C would have been inset. Perhaps the small hairline crack on the shank at the mortise was found during crafting this pipe. Either way, the hairline does not impact the form or function of this pipe. There is some rim darkening, consistent with regular use, as well as some shallow tooth impressions near the button - This pipe is a great clencher at this weight, and well balanced. I am Slowly selling on eBay a decent quantity of my diverse and respectable pipe collection over the next few months. Most of my pipes will have stem oxidation removed and will be polished. I generally delicately polish my pipes with carnauba wax on a cotton buffing wheel, as to not fade the nomenclature. Estate are generally used pipes, a perfect pipe would be new, a direct from a manufacturer. Some of my collection were purchased new by me, while others have been found at estate sales over the years. I would smoke any of my pipes as they are mailed to you, but you should do what makes you feel comfortable!
