OVERVIEW

The Pirelli Cinturato P7 Run Flat (*) is a performance and high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This model is the original equipment tire of select BMW vehicles.

The special tread pattern and the hybrid tire compound improve the summer weather road gripping ability and traction. As the tire maintains its road grip in dry and wet weather, it is safer to use in summer conditions. This model, however, is not meant to be used in winter weather, due to the compound losing its traction in the colder winter temperatures. The circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by evacuating water from beneath the tire footprint, for a safer wet weather traction.

The tire's reinforced internal structure allows it to be driven on for 50 miles at up to the speed of 50 mph after the loss of air pressure. In this manner, the tire is capable of maintaining the vehicle's weight to ensure that the driver safely arrives at a destination where they can change or repair the damaged tire. These tires are heavier in construction and are usually manufactured for vehicles without space for a spare tire.

The hybrid tire compound also upgrades the tread wear length. It avoids irregular wear patterns forming by equally distributing the driving pressure across the tread area. This spreading out of the forces of acceleration, cornering and braking ensures longevity of the tread pattern and increases the tire's usability.

The tread design's optimized variable pitch lowers the road noise heard while the tires are in motion. This design cancels out the road noise that's generated by creating sound waves that negate it. The lower road noise levels heard in the vehicle's cabin ensure a quiet and comfortable drive.

The Cinturato P7 Run Flat (*)'s shoulder and center tread block sequence improve the cornering ability, steering responsiveness and driving durability. They provide additional biting edges that firmly grip onto the road during cornering situations. They also promote a faster and more accurate steering responsiveness and they stabilize the tire against the driving forces to ensure easy and effortless handling in all summer conditions.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
