Rare opportunity to own an authentic antique Vienna regulator wall clock by renowned Austro-Hungarian maker Lechner Jozsef of Pest/Budapest. These clocks do not come up for sale very often, especially signed examples connected to the famous Lechner family of Imperial and Royal court suppliers during the Austro-Hungarian Empire period.

Lechner Jozsef was a respected Hungarian clockmaker and jeweler whose family business dates back to the early 1800s. Historical references note the firm as an Imperial and Royal court supplier within the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

This fine movement looks like it has a service signature on the back of it. I couldn't make it out but starts with Pott...... dated 1900 May 4th (see pictures)

This is a true Vienna regulator style wall clock featuring:

Clock measures approximately:

Weight with movement installed is approximately 20 lbs.

This clock is being sold AS IS for restoration, repair, or parts. The case is rough and has damage/issues throughout. The bottom  pediment/motif section has come apart but is included. The right side glass broke and was discarded. Both upper side trim pieces are missing. I do not have the weight, winding key, or possibly some mounting hardware for the movement attachment inside the case. I do have the pendulum.

The pendulum attachment area on the movement appears slightly bent. I could not properly get the movement mounted back onto its case attachment, so there may be additional missing parts. The movement is untested and being sold completely AS IS with no guarantees.

Despite the condition issues, this remains a very desirable restoration candidate due to the rarity of the maker. The movement alone would make an excellent restoration or collector piece, and I would consider selling/shipping just the movement and pendulum and ringer separately if desired to help reduce shipping costs.

Vienna regulator clocks were among the finest precision wall clocks made in Austria and the German-speaking regions during the 19th century. Authentic examples were handcrafted with weight-driven movements and elegant long pendulums designed for highly accurate timekeeping.

Please study all pictures carefully for overall condition. I can provide additional photos upon request.

You don’t get many chances to purchase a Lechner Jozsef Vienna regulator clock.
