This is a Very Rare and Desirable piece of Designer British Silver. Made by Peter John Doherty in Solid Sterling Silver it is a Heavy Meat Skewer with a ring at the top that comes in the original Leather Box and was originally retailed by Weir & Sons of Grafton Street, Dublin. It is Fully Hallmarked on the Skewer as photographed with PJD for the Maker's Mark, the Lion Passant Mark for Silver, 925 for the Silver Purity, the Leopard's Head Mark for London Assay Office, the Date Letter j for 2008 and it has been electronically tested at a precious metal refinery to confirm the metal content. It weighs 86.7g, measures 27.7cm long and the ring is 3.2cm diameter to the outside. It is in a very good condition with no damage and hardly any minor surface wear so has always been a display item and has never been used as a Skewer.
