RARE DOCUMENTED JAPANESE STUDIO POTTERY — TAMBA WARE
A genuine hand-thrown Tamba ware (丹波焼) stoneware vase by noted Japanese studio potter Ichino Hiroyuki (市野博之), one of Japan's celebrated Six Ancient Kiln traditions.
This piece was commissioned in 2003 (Heisei 15) as a commemorative work marking the 60th anniversary of Kobe Morigakuen (神戸森学園), a Kobe educational institution, made possible through the special cooperation of the artist.
COMES WITH original handwritten washi paper certificate confirming provenance, dated November 15, 2003.
