On offer is a vintage Majolica Vase decorated with floral motifs, using a five-sided shape, made using red clay by Thun Pottery Switzerland.

Thun pottery originates from the town of Thun in Switzerland and is known for its hand-applied, colourful enamel decoration over white or red earthenware, showcasing a floral theme.

The vase is in good condition having no cracks but does have some odd minute chips to the rim & foot along with some glaze rubbing to the decoration. It is 10cm tall, 9cm deep by 9cm in diameter 6cm across the rim. On the underside are the incised Thun mark, the artists mark and shape/style number.  The unpackaged weight is 248 grams.

As always, the pictures form part of the listing so please look carefully before purchasing.

Condition: The majority or our items are either Old, Second Hand or Both and as a result they may have signs of wear and tear commensurate with age or use that you wouldn't see on a brand-new item. We always describe the items accurately, to the best of our knowledge but we are not experts or infallible and may miss something. So, if you have any questions, please contact us before bidding.

As there is widespread confusion about the difference between chips, nicks, hairlines, or cracks. Here is how we see it:

A nick is a tiny bit of damage smaller than 1mm and a chip is something you can see with the eye; a hairline runs over the surface glazing but not the body of the item and a crack runs through the body of the item, usually weakening its structure.
