A striking Art Deco-inspired Lord Elgin ref. 4528 dating to 1954, this rectangular dress watch is crafted in 14k yellow gold and features a beautifully architectural stepped case.

The off-white dial is accented by vertical texturing, applied Arabic numerals and dart indices, faceted dauphine hands, and a subsidiary seconds register at 6 o’clock with geometric sector detailing. Its elongated proportions and sharp lines give the watch a distinctly mid-century American character.

The case back bears an engraved award from Humble Oil Co. commemorating 30 years of service, dated 1954. Inside, the case is stamped by Star Watch Case Co., which produced cases for American watch companies during this period.

Powered by the 21-jewel Lord Elgin caliber 670 manual-wind movement and fitted with a brown lizard strap, it is a particularly handsome vintage dress watch whose case, dial and original presentation engraving give it plenty of period character.
