1862 50c The Memphis and Charleston Railroad Company note from Memphis, Tennessee.

This railroad was effectively removed as a resource to the Confederacy when Union forces captured Huntsville, AL in early 1862. The railroad was damaged during the war, then repaired. 

It operated from 1857 until 1894 when it merged into the Southern Railway system.

This note is PMG Graded Fine 12 with pinholes.
