The coins are protected by four recently added innovative security features that are visually identifiable and do not allow fraudsters to copy the coin. To make sure that it is a genuine Britannia coin or not, you need to identify:
- a hidden image that acts like a hologram on the coin and changes from a padlock to a triangle by changing the viewing angle of the coin;
- coin surface animation with the small details that create the illusion of movement of the waves depicted behind Britannia;
- microtext, the reverse of the coin bears the text ‘DECUS ET TUTAMEN‘ in a special laser, which means ‘ornament and protector’ and surrounds the statue of Britannia;
- the shield of Britannia is adorned with the British flag, which is depicted using the traditional method of artistic heraldry.
