### (あかつき)
A plain, sturdy kabuto display laced with koubai (crimson plum) colored cord.
This is an auspicious traditional color beloved since the Heian period, said to announce the arrival of spring.
For the fukigaeshi (turned-back side guards) and mabizashi (visor), we used a pattern called **“Kikumagaki”**—a motif said to have been popular in the Kamakura period—expressed using the **Inden** technique, in which patterns are applied with colored lacquer onto tanned leather.
“Akatsuki” features a flat shape known as **“kasa-jikoro.”** This form was often seen in the Muromachi period, when battles involving swinging a tachi sword were common.
*Please note: our “Akatsuki” series is a custom-made, original specification exclusive to Ningyo no Iwasaki.*
