Why Vinyl? Understanding Your Material: Replacement dash pads typically come in two material finishes: urethane or vinyl. This dash pad features the vinyl finish. Vinyl is more expensive to produce but closely mirrors the look, feel, and sheen of your original OE dash in a way that urethane simply cannot match. For restorers and builders who demand a period-correct, factory-quality finish, vinyl is the right call.

This is a full replacement dash pad, not a cover for a cracked dashboard. You remove your damaged original dash and bolt this new one into its place. It is not the thin ABS shell that glues over an existing dash to hide damage.

Built for the later Datsun 240Z — the Series 2 body style with the molded indent around the hazard-switch area.

Key features

  • Direct bolt-in replacement for your factory dash pad
  • Series 2 fitment — includes the molded indent for the hazard switch
  • Made in the USA
  • Injection-molded foam body with the steel mounting tabs cast in place, the same way the part was originally built
  • Heat-formed vinyl skin, UV-treated to resist cracking from sun exposure
  • Extra vinyl overhang at the edges so you can trim to a perfect final contour

Fitment

  • Late 1972–1973 Datsun 240Z (Series 2, with hazard-switch indent)
  • May fit some early 1972 cars that already have the indent — compare against your dash before ordering
  • Does not fit 1970–early 1972 Series 1 cars (which have the smooth top with no indent)

Installation

Pull your old dash pad, set this one in its place, and reuse your factory metal substructure and mounting hardware. Trim the extra vinyl at the edges during install for a clean finish. If you are expecting to glue a cap onto your existing dash — that is a different product; this one replaces your dash entirely.
