• In the early 1970's, the Miami Dolphins were an NFL dynasty. From 1971 -1973 the Miami Dolphins made three (3) straight Super Bowl appearances (Super Bowls VI, VII and VIII). The Miami Dolphins won back-to-back Super Bowls in the 1972 (VII) and 1973 (VIII) NFL seasons. Led by the indisputably greatest coach of all time Don Shula, the 1972 team finished 17-0, the only perfect season in NFL history, and they followed it by defeating the Minnesota Vikings 24-7 in Super Bowl VIII. They achieved the league's only perfect season in 1972 (17-0) and won back-to-back titles in 1972 and 1973, dominating with a powerhouse running game and "No-Name Defense".
