In 2013, Greenbrier Companies introduced their new design of the 89' auto rack, the Multi-Max. The main selling feature was the capability to convert between two and three levels, depending on the size of the autos being shipped. The racks have been built on Greenbrier's own specially design 89' flat cars. These cars are commonly seen in cuts of other similar auto rack cars or a solid unit train of auto racks. Currently, over 10,000 of these auto racks are running on North American rails.
