No. 60163 'Tornado' was completed in 2008 by the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust, reviving the Peppercorn Class A1 after the original locomotives had disappeared from service. Built for main-line and heritage operation, this celebrated new-build Pacific connects classic British steam design with the preservation era.
Authentic British Railways Detail
Hornby's RailRoad Plus R30086 depicts 'Tornado' in British Railways green with its distinctive 4-6-2 wheel arrangement, running number 60163, tender and finely applied livery detail. Its 1:76 scale makes it a striking addition to a compatible OO gauge collection or layout.
Ready for Your OO Gauge Layout
Designed for conventional two-rail analogue DC running, the model also has an 8-pin DCC-ready socket for a suitable decoder upgrade. It requires second-radius curves or larger. This is a locomotive model, not a complete train set; track, controller and DCC decoder are not included.
