14pk Radio Hatching Eggs from Pinnon Hatch Farms

My Grandfather got these Radios from Kenny Smith back in 1987. Johnnie Jumper originated & named the Radios. Here is what Johnnie Jumper said, "Cecil brought me a rooster to train one time... and this rooster was very noisy. He was happy, happy all the time. So, I trained him, and uh I'd exercise him and he was just so noisy. He had a great mental attitude. So, I named him Radio. I gave him the name Radio cause he talked all the time. And that...that name stuck with those chickens since 1962. And course people call "you the man that invented uh come up with the radios?" and I say well I come up with this one rooster you know and so I bred him to 1 Kelso hen then I bred him back to 7/8 of him and that's how the...and I still have that family to this day. We call them Radios but they are red chickens with yellow legs. Their basic bloodline was 1/2 Whitehackle I was telling you about and 1/2 Murphy. They come from Mr. Murphy up in New York. That's what the rooster was made up of, but we still have them today and they have such a great mental attitude. That's so important...the mental attitude."

What if my eggs break in shipment?
We always reship or refund damaged eggs. We package really well so this hardly ever happens. Currently, from the buyers I have heard back from, 99% of my eggs have arrived unbroken. One gentleman I have stayed in contact with that lives hundreds of miles away e-mailed me recently and said 13 of 13 eggs hatched. Another gentleman that lives over 1000 miles away said that 21 of 24 hatched.

What if my eggs don’t hatch?
Be sure to let the legs rest for 48 hours in a cool place before you incubate. Sometimes the mailing process can be a bit rough and letting them rest for the 48 hours will increase your hatch rate. If you happen to have a bad hatch please contact us. We offer one free replacement shipment.

Can you sex the eggs?
No. Eggs are not sexed before shipment.

How old are the eggs?
Eggs are fertile and no more than three days old when I mail them.

Can I get mixed breed hatching eggs?
No. We only raise pure breed birds.

What about Avian Influenza?
We are NPIP compliant. The USDA comes out to test our birds regularly and we are not allowing guests on the farm. Only a handful of people are allowed around the birds to prevent infection from getting tracked into the pens on anyone’s shoes and we use 1” mesh netting on all of our pens to prevent wild birds from spreading disease. All chicks that are shipped are hatched in an incubator and never have any interaction with the flock.

Some states have restricted shipments of chicks if avian influenza has been detected in the state of origin in the past 30 days. If that happens we will contact you and will either hold the order until the restrictions are lifted or refund you on the order.
