Product details:
Hymac 880 Excavator - 3D Printed Model – Multiple Scales – Railway-Compatible Options
Introduced in 1968, the Hymac 880 was one of the larger machines in the Hymac range, weighing in at around 22.3 tonnes. While not massive by modern standards, it was considered a serious machine in its day — widely used for:
Deep excavation work
Bulk earthmoving
Scrap and heavy material handling
The 880 quickly became known for its capability and rugged performance, sitting just below the rare 1080 and 1290 machines in the range.
In 1972, the upgraded 880C variant was introduced, featuring improvements including a Volvo engine and optional configurations such as face shovel setups.
For many operators, machines like the 880 represent a hands-on era of plant operation — where skill, timing, and a fair bit of effort were required to get the best out of the machine.

Production and shipping. All our models are printed to order. Printing is usually completed within a few days, but bulk orders and large models may take longer to print. During busy periods, it can take up to 10 days to dispatch orders, but this uncommon.
Models are printed and shipped in from the UK.
We 3D print our models with a high-quality resin which precisely replicates fine details. The resin is ?ABS-like? which means it is less fragile and has little bit of flex. Once printed, models are then cleaned and have support material removed. A small amount of support material may remail on the model, but this can be removed with a craft knife or clippers. The models are usually printed hollow. |
