For auction is a small small wooden bucket or keg that was made for shipping gun powder. I would estimate that it dates to the latter 19th century. It has worn a coat of old green paint for the last hundred year or so and some chips to its exterior surface are its only damage. The three bands holding the staves together are wooden and the bail handle appears to be hand forged. It is 5" tall and 5 1/4" in diameter at the top. There is a lighter spot on the bottom where there originally was a label but it is long gone.
