Nikon F3/F3HP - ILM/Lucas Film/Kerner Motion Picture -SPECIAL- K focusing screen
This is a VERY unusual find for both Nikon collectors and Motion picture camera users and Directors alike.
This is an item that was Purchased from ILM (Industrial Light & Magic - Lucas Film, Ltd.) from the Kerner Optical studios when they liquidated some years back in 2011. This focusing screen is designed to fit Nikon F3 / F3HP type film cameras. It is a converted “K” focusing screen with a target grid showing marks from 1-10 and shows on the bottom left corner “6/89” and “1.66/1.85” on the right hand corner -custom designed for Motion picture use - all shows the correct way when viewing in the finder. I am not sure if it went to the famous still life camera that was used for Indiana Jones 2 (but that camera was sold during that auction as well) and was in the same room. This screen does also have the split-image center with the matte outer field.
It would be Great to see all that has been viewed through this focusing screen…..
This screen comes exactly as shown and is in great condition with no scratches and light dust - works properly when viewing/focusing in camera.
