A substantial vintage salmon fly reel by Hogg Maker Edinburgh. Probably made by P D Malloch with the signature 2 screw face plate fixing and Hogg Maker shield logo to the face plates. this reel is 4-1/4" diameter and 2-1/8" wide so it was designed to carry big salmon fly lines. original handle with lock screw, Its a little tight to turn but a strip and oil should fix this easily, The reel still has all its bronze finish There is a threaded boss at the back which MAY have had a brake or spindle screw ( missing) meaning it could be a very rare early brake reel and worth a little TLC
