PHILIPS' SERIES OF COMPARATIVE WALL ATLAS

NORTH AMERICA COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT - Circa.1952

Vintage Map - 70+ years old

The map series were initially produced in the mid to late 1800s by the company 'George Philip & Son Ltd.' with the help of cartographers such as John Bartholomew the elder, August Petermann, and William Hughes who produced maps on copper plates.
Commissioned by "The London Geographical Institute",
This map version, prepared primarily for the USA and Canada markets, dates back to the early 1950s and saw extensive use in schools. Much of the information shown on the map became redundant in the late '60s and '70s and the majority of maps such as this were thrown out. It is rare for one such as this to survive so long - especially here in Australia.
Here is an opportunity to own something special.
