The descriptive note written on the reverse provides every detail needed to conclude whom was photographed and why. They provide more than enough detail to identify whom the gentleman was. In the 1931 census, John Richard Kelsey is listed as owning a farm in Eldon Township, Victoria County, Ontario. Also, on page 69 of Watson Kirkconnell's Victoria County Centennial History, J. R. Kelsey of Woodville is mentioned as being a pure bred breeder of Shropshire sheep.
Condition: Gloss surface is significantly marred due to handwritten note on reverse, pressing the pen hard has embossed the image side.
