Second in the Stafford Springs series documenting the turbulent marriage of Angelo Sereffs of Stafford Springs, Connecticut, this lot unites his eight-page handwritten letter of rage and sorrow (1934) with the official 1936 Superior Court decree Original January 13 & February 12, 1914 correspondence and order form from the Wayne Paper Goods Company, makers of the Wayne Cedar Wardrobe and paper specialties, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Addressed to C.E. Williams, 54 Woodlawn Terrace, Waterbury CT.

Includes:

Typed letter (dated Jan 13 1914) on printed company letterhead with small red litho vignette of “The New Open Front Wayne Wardrobe.” Signed by company secretary C. A. Allen, noting they are out of circulars for the Wayne Basket Cooker but will send more once reprinted.

Printed order invoice / receipt (dated Feb 12 1914) for one Wayne Basket Cooker, six dozen liners, and a discount notation of 33 ? %. Handwritten pencil notations and company “PAID 1914” stamp. Reverse carries Williams’ penciled follow-up record of the March shipment.

Together these pieces document early 20th-century domestic and paper-goods marketing from a Fort Wayne manufacturer whose “Wayne Cedar Wardrobe” brand is seldom seen.
