Item Description

YAMAHA SG-700

The Yamaha SG series, favored by many renowned guitarists including Carlos Santana and Masayoshi Takanaka.
This instrument is an SG-700 from its first year of release, 1976.
Weighing 4.27kg, it's relatively lightweight for a Yamaha SG series guitar. It features a maple top and mahogany back body, a nut width of approximately 43mm, a 628mm medium-scale mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard.
The combination of original pickups and body construction produces a powerful sound with strong mids.
The push/pull tone control allows for coil tapping, enabling sound shaping from crisp, articulate single-coil sounds to more, all with this one guitar! It's suitable for a variety of genres.

In terms of condition, there are some minor scratches and small dents overall, and the paint on the back of the neck where it rests on a guitar stand is slightly deteriorated. The original pickguard is slightly warped due to age, but it can still be attached without any problems.
The net has been replaced with cow bone. Everything else is original.
The neck is straight and the truss rod has plenty of adjustment range in both directions.
The original frets have plenty of height remaining and are almost completely free of wear.
It's in remarkably good condition for a guitar approximately 50 years old!
A valuable early model!!
Original hardshell case included.
