Broadway Limited's N Scale Denver & Rio Grande Western EMD F7 A/B Set is a beautifully detailed, ready-to-run model equipped with Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC with Rolling Thunder. The EMD F7 was a 1,500-horsepower cab unit diesel produced by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between 1949 and 1953. It was the fourth model in the F-unit series and by far the best-selling cab unit locomotive of all time - more F7s were built than all other F-units combined. F7s hauled some of America's most celebrated named trains including the Santa Fe Super Chief and El Capitan.

The F7 differed from the F3 primarily in internal electrical equipment and some external details including grille arrangements and dynamic brake hatches. F7s operated in both freight and passenger service and many remained in active service for decades.
