If you live in an area with goat heads and other road debris, these tires are a must have. I used to get a flat every other week (66 miles) and have since gone 2 years without a single flat. I used to run the gatorskin level and those got me 2500-3,000 miles a tire at 23c, but I’m now getting 6,000+ miles on a set (granted, 25c) and am happy to pay the slight excess for the better tire. These roll well in all four seasons and give a reliable comfortable ride while being reliable.

I've only use Continental Gator Skins on the road bike for the past 19 years, averaging 3000 plus miles on the rear and around 6000 on the front, with only two punctures, one was a side wall sharp stone cut happened at night, booted the tire and rode home, and the other a very fine small piece of a steel wire in some gravel, result slow leek. I've picked glass out of the tires that never made it through. I'm excited about the new Continental Gator Hardshell with the extra layer of protection, longer wearing tread that stated to be faster and longer wearing, what's not to like. I've gotten out on a couple of rides and it's smooth and fast using the recommended 95psi. I went up to the 700 x 28's for these, I have used 23 and 25 mostly in the past and years ago even smaller. I'll continue with the 28 these tires I like the ride feel. I've trust the brand and got a great price at REI. I want to ride, not change flats.

I've run over broken glass, etc. several times and not had a single flat. I can even see the punctures on the tire. They apparently didn't go through to the tube. I also like the indicator embedded in the tire that shows the tire needs to be changed. I do really long rides. Fixing flats somewhere along the way sucks. I will use these as long as they're available.

Fantastic product! Handles rough pavement and gravels roads. Replaced a pair of basic Gatorskins that lasted almost 10 years with these. First trip out, encountered lots of unexpected gravel roads, but these hardshells withstood the abuse without a problem.

Bought these to replace the Conti “Attack/Force” pair I have had for 10+ years without a flat. These have great construction and excellent grip. Although they are folders, you will definitely need tire levers to mount them on your 700 rims.

I've tried several different tires on my bicycle, but the Continental Gator Hardshell Foldable Tire is the best puncher resistant of them all - in my opinion. Yes, it's a little heavier but well worth the extra weight.
