For your consideration is a beautiful Russian black lacquer. box, Fedoskino school, measuring 6 in X 4 in X 2 in. This footed box is in excellent condition, inside and outside. Signed by the artist with the notation. that this box is from the Fedoskino “school” of painting.  No visible scratches, no dents, no repairs, and lacquer is still shiny and paint is vivid, bright, and clear, with no fading.  Hinge in excellent condition. I don’t know who the subject of the painting is, but the hand-painted woman on the top of the box is exquisite. The sides of the boxes have also been hand-painted. Nothing was ever “stored” in this box, which is from a non-smoking home.  About Fedoskino:  Fedoskino is the site of the country's oldest lacquer box industry.  In the late 18th century, merchant Ivan Korobov set up a factory of lacquer production in the village of Danilkovo (now Fedoskino) near Moscow, which in the early 19th century was inherited by his son-in-law, who was instrumental in making Fedoskino world-famous, famous for its perfection of painting technique and decorative ornamentation.     Please check out the pictures!  I have several Russian black lacquer boxes in my collection, and I currently have one other gorgeous lacquer box listed on ebay, as well as some beautiful Russian lacquer hand-painted plates, so please check out those listings.
