This
beautiful lithograph was commissioned by Irish Legends as a seventy-fifth
anniversary tribute to the famed 1924 Notre Dame backfield. Noted sports artist
Ted Watts of Oswego, Kansas prepared the art in a montage manner to show each
of the "Four Horsemen" in both portrait and action poses, with the
background of the famous Polo Grounds stadium.
The
painting was studio produced by the artist who used a mixed-media technique
(acrylic paint and prismacolor pencil with airbrush). The original painting was
reproduced as a lithograph, under the artists directions, in an image size of
17" x 12 3/4 on 20" x16" 25% rag-100% acid free archival quality
offset art print paper. The print edition is strictly limited to 1,924 art
prints.
The
edition number corresponds to the year date of the legendary "Four
Horsemen" game. Each print is individually hand-signed and numbered by the
artist. A "Legend sheet" tells the story of the Four Horsemen, the
creation of the artwork and profiles the artist. A
