This is Madame Alexander's Elise ballerina doll. She has a hard plastic torso and legs, but vinyl arms and head. This makes her a transitional doll for the company, made in between the all hard-plastic era but prior to the company switching to all vinyl dolls. I believe she was made circa 1959-1960.

Elise is 15" tall and still beautiful, with minor flaws. She comes from the estate of her original owner who stored her carefully for the last many decades. Elise has blond hair in the original factory set, pulled back at the sides and secured at her nape. She has bangs in front. The hairdo is mostly neat, with some strays poking out mostly in back I think due to lying on her back in a box for so long. She has a blue mark on her cheek which perhaps can be covered with makeup? but otherwise her face is lovely and has original face paint. Elise has clear blue eyes with all her lashes; her left eye sometimes sticks open and needs a manual flick to close. Her body is in nice shape and her knees bend, ankles still bend so she can point her toes for dancing. She has some whiteish marks on the legs, see close up photo. Her stringing could use tightening after more than 60 years. The doll has her original fingernail paint which is very good. She is wearing her original tagged pink tutu, trimmed with sequins and fabric flowers, which is in very good condition with a few small holes in the tulle that hide well. She has her sequined original headpiece, and original rhinestone earrings. She has only one ballet slipper, and it has a hole in the heel. The doll has no foul odors and is clean. She was stored indoors in a clean, dry closet. Nonsmoking estate collection.
