Tom "Silver Tip" Grant - Handwritten 1930 letter & "Signed" Envelope.
**DEADWOOD DICK Cohort & Friend**
Tom "Silver Tip" Grant was a resident, proprietor of the Ayres hotel in Deadwood South Dakota and Contemporary to the legendary days of "Deadwood". He was associated with the history of the town and later with Richard Clarke, an actor; who portrayed Deadwood Dick in the city's annual Days of '76 Parade. Clarke was sent east to invite then-U.S. President Calvin Coolidge to Deadwood. Clarke appreciated the celebrity status so much that he continued playing Deadwood Dick until his death on May 5, 1930.
RE the Reference image: A group of "cowboys" and American Indians standing on Deadwood's Main Street during the 1928 Days of '76 Celebration. The man second from left is Bill Sherral (Sherill). Richard Clark as Deadwood Dick is the 4th from the right and Tom "Silver Tip" Grant is second from the right.

In vintage very good to excellent condition.
Acquired as part of a collection back in the early 90's from a California Auction house.
