Exterior & Finish: The pipe is presented in its natural state without staining or dye (no morilla). The briar surface shows its natural grain and age-related patina. No major external cracks or chips were found on the outside of the bowl. Please evaluate the surface condition and wood texture yourself based on the high-resolution photos provided.
Internal Condition (Chamber & Shank):
Tobacco Chamber: There is a layer of carbon buildup (cake) present. The internal surface of the chamber is uneven. Please refer to photos to see the chamber walls and cake distribution.
Mortise (Shank Interior): Macro photo shows internal micro-fractures/hairline cracks on the inner rim where the stem meets the shank. These are internal and do not appear on the exterior of the shank. Please examine the macro shots to assess the severity for yourself.
Airway: The draught hole is open and well-centered at the bottom of the bowl.
Stem: Black ebonite stem. For the condition of the button, the presence of any light teeth marks, and the state of the "L" logo, please refer to the macro photography. The stem fits firmly and snugly into the shank.
The pipe is sold "as is." No restoration or deep cleaning has been performed. Final purchase decisions and assessment of all flaws (including the uneven chamber and internal shank micro-cracks) should be made based on your own inspection of the photos.
