On offer is a vintage half pint milk jug, from the Dorset Fruit collection, decorated with the grapes pattern, made by Poole Pottery Dorset England.
The Dorset Fruit patterns were designed by Alan Clarke in 1990, they are a hand painted sponge glazed design, with either, Pears, Cherries, Apples, Oranges, Raspberries, Plums or Grapes glazed in yellows, reds, purple, Orange, greens and browns, set on a cream white ground, with a speckled blue edge to the rim.
The jug is glazed with a cream off-white base and then hand painted with grapes, on either side, along with a blue and green sponged leaf pattern designs and a blue edge to the rim finishes it off.
It has a capacity of half a pint and is 7.5cm tall by 8cm in diameter at the rim swelling out to about 11cm in the middle and 16.5cm in length handle to spout. It is in good condition free from crazing, chips, or cracks, with just the odd very light surface mark commensurate with use or age. On the bottom is the Poole Pottery Dolphin studio design mark and the unpackaged weight is 257 grams.
As always, the pictures form part of the listing so please look carefully before purchasing.
Thank You - For Looking
As there is widespread confusion about the difference between chips, nicks, hairlines, or cracks. Here is how we see it:
A nick is a tiny bit of damage smaller than 1mm and a chip is something you can see with the eye; a hairline runs over the surface glazing but not the body of the item and a crack runs through the body of the item, usually weakening its structure.
Returns: Due to flaws mentioned in the listing will not be accepted.
