I bought this as a new engine in 2024 and never took it out of the box.  As I do with any unsealed/Open Box item I test it. The box and directions state that this is a DCC/Factory Sound locomotive.  I could not get it to run in DCC mode. No idea why. So, I tested it on DC and it ran like a charm, smooth as silk and quiet too. I don't have the time to look into why it is not working in DCC mode. I don't think it has anything to do with what I'm doing on my end but who knows. (I am new to DCC) So, I am discounting this engine to a price  for comparable analog engines.Contrary to what the box says and its instructions, I am selling this as an analog engine.  If you can fix it then you win. If you can't then you will have purchased a new Rivarossi analog locomotive competitively priced as an analog engine. This engine, working as it should with DCC/Sound can be purchased on EBAY for around $250.00. I'm listing this engine for the price of an analog engine at $139.95. I have not tried to reset the decoder as I just got a Digitrax system and am not sure how to do that yet. 
(If you get it to work with DCC/Sound I would really appreciate hearing back from you as to what you did to get it working in DCC mode)
