C 1830-1840 Thumb Back Windsor Chair with Original Paint & Decoration

This chair is an 
American Windsor "thumb-back" side chair, likely from  Worcester County, Massachusetts, and dating to approximately 1830–1840. It features a characteristic yellow "chrome" or mustard paint with original decorative stenciling and hand painted decoration on the crest rail. Curved, rectangular crest rail morticed with single wooden peg through post at top of crest rail. Four tapered and bent balled rods. Horseshoe- shaped seat with incised line at back in front of posts and rods. Bamboo turned legs and stretchers. Paint is all original.

Condition: Very Good/AS Found. Presents with (1) rod that is coming out of seat hole (see pics). Some loss to paint and surface wear commensurate with age and use. Chair is very sturdy!
