The simplicity of what you're getting here is pretty obvious. This comes from the parts that had to be created for the lumber bodies we have listed. The way the molds are made both decks have to be "shot" or "injected" together. So this is a by product of those lumber beds. Plastic not resin.
Great for kitbashing, this is kind of a generic trailer deck, or truck flatbed. Each deck scales out to 18 ft roughly (I get 18'2" but don't presume that is exact-(give or take a mm), so what you're getting is close to a 18 ft flatbed bodies in scale length. Each part measures 8 3/4 inches(actual size) The decks are molded in a wood/woodgrain type of surface. I've tried to show it in pictures.
Assembled end to end, this length pre-dates 40ft. trailer trucking laws(scale length would be close to 36' commonly used) in late 60s early 70s. The trailer kits used here(That ultimately provided the parts) represent the only kit made we know of that recreates that shorter length. Used (that length) for over 20 yrs. we think. 36 ft. length law dates back to late 1930s, early 1940s we believe.
18' is a commonly sold car trailer length.
These kit parts were produced for THC Worldwide. I believe Lindberg owned the molds at the time and produced these for THC. But we don't know this for fact. For anyone who doesn't already know, the flatbed trailer that IMC released in the early 70s came from the same molds that Testors, and now Lindberg uses. Changed couple details-but more/less the same molds used today. This flatbed section comes from the same flatbed molds.
Good for adding to a cab chassis, car hauler/gooseneck trailer building, custom fabrication, scratch building etc. etc..
So you get two deck pieces totaling just over 36 scale ft. (In scale) , 18'2"(in scale)x2pcs.
